This letter is to express my sincere thanks to all of the thoughtful people who were kind enough to sign the petitions to qualify me to be a candidate for county commissioner in District 3 (Mancos) on the November ballot. It is very gratifying to receive the support that I did from throughout Montezuma County.
This has been a great learning experience. I am somewhat surprised, quite frankly, by the number of people who are actually angry at the dysfunctionalism of party politics at the federal, state and even local level. As an unaffiliated candidate, I am pleased not to be required to be subject to that issue. I will remain focused on the concerns of all the residents of Montezuma County, not on the demands dictated by the leaders of any political party.
