There aren’t enough words to thank the communities of Mancos and beyond for the outpouring of love and support this last year as Margie Russell battled melanoma.

She was able to spend her final weeks surrounded by her family and loved ones, in the home in which she raised her children.

Margie loved Mancos – the school, the teaching staff and the kids – and bled blue her whole life.

Our family would like to thank each of you who sent cards and flowers, called, and came to see her. Thank you for being there for us and providing meals so we could spend our last days with our Mom. We’d also like to thank Hospice of Montezuma for helping us be her caretakers in her final weeks.

She was a big influence in the Mancos Valley, and each day, we are figuring out how to live our lives without her.
