Healthcare scholarships awarded

The Southwest Memorial Hospital Foundation recently awarded financial scholarships to several local residents who have their sights set on careers in healthcare. From left to right are: Stephen Garner who will attend Colorado State University and plans to become a cardiovascular surgeon; Brittny Weir who plans to become a radiologic technologist and will be attending Weber State University; Erica Blackburn who will attend Pueblo Community College and also plans to pursue a career as a radiologic technologist; Candace Powell who will study nursing at Regis University; Krystal Brown who will attend Western State College and plans to become a physician’s assistant; Laurie Dennison who plans to become a dental hygienist and is attending San Juan College; and 8-year-old Taley Dennison, who is very proud of her mom. Not pictured is scholarship recipient Ashley Lingo, who will attend Central Arizona College with plans to become a firefighter and emergency medical technologist. The SWMH Foundation congratulates all of these hardworking and deserving scholarship winners and wishes them great success in their healthcare careers.
