Cortez resident Mark Applequist will give a free lecture and photo slideshow at Dolores Public Library covering the history of Grand Canyon burros and his expedition to move them to Diamond Creek, on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m.In January of 1981, Applequist and others transported roughly 50 burros from the lower canyon to Diamond Creek.
