Adults fight during a children’s T-ball game at McAndrew Field in Cortez on June 19.

Keesha MacAulay, who was issued a summons for disturbing the peace after a June fight at a children’s T-ball game, has received a deferred sentence from Cortez Municipal Court.

MacAulay was one of several adults involved in a fight at McAndrew Field on June 19, part of which was filmed by a spectator and posted on Facebook, where it received more than 33,000 views in the weeks after the incident. She appeared in court on Monday, after her case was delayed several times because of an ongoing investigation. According to City Attorney Mike Green, MacAulay pleaded no contest and received a deferred sentence, meaning that if she does not receive a new charge, the charge will be dismissed a year from now.

Nine other people have been charged in connection with the incident, including one juvenile defendant, according to District Attorney Will Furse. George Brito, Quincey Brito, Tisha Crooks, Christina Schulte, Kathy Gomez and Sandra Smith have been charged with third-degree assault and harassment, Ricky Espinoza with third-degree assault, and Kristella Yapelli with verbal harassment, Furse said. Most of the defendants have received protection orders prohibiting them from contact with MacAulay, who appeared to be the target of most of the attacks in the video.

The juvenile defendant is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 19 for a pretrial conference after the office of defense attorney John Moran filed a motion to withdraw from her case because of a conflict. The other defendants do not yet have scheduled hearings.
