The Bureau of Land Managements Tres Rios Field Office is considering Kinder Morgans proposal for the construction and production of three carbon dioxide (CO2) wells in Montezuma County. The wells and flowlines are on private surface with federal minerals, while loop pipelines are on private surface land and the Canyon of the Ancients National Monument.
Following the public scoping period, an Environmental Assessment will be developed to determine the possible resource impacts in accordance with National Environmental Policy Act and the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument Resource Management Plan. The scoping period is intended to provide those interested or affected by this proposal an opportunity to make their concerns known prior to the development of the EA.
