‘Wings’ opens at Spruce Tree



An exhibit titled “Wings” opens a the Spruce Tree Coffeehouse, 318 E. Main in Cortez, on Thursday, May 3 from 5-7 p.m.

Wings is a mixed media art show by Sharon Englehart.




Redhead Express caps concert season



Redhead Express, the final concert of Southwest Colorado Concert season is Sunday, May 13, at the Montezuma-Cortez High School Auditorium at 3 p.m. Redhead Express will provide a night of entertainment and high-energy music with hits of the 1950s and ’60s, to country, originals, traditional, bluegrass and old time music.

Tickets are $20/adult, $5/youth (under 18 years of age). Doors open at 2 p.m., and tickets for the 2012-2013 season will be available. Call Paul Bostrom 565-9127 or Joyce Stevenson 565-4757 for information.




Southwest art show in May



There will be an opening reception for the artists who are showing their work at the Mancos Town Gallery in May, called South West Angle. The artists are Joyce Kramer, Janet Lever-Wood, Janet Reich, Rob and Mary Wilson, and Jan Wright.

The show is inspired by the land, the mountains, the skies of the Southwest, and by the artistic traditions of our Four Corners area. The reception will be on Friday, May 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The show will be displayed from May 4 through May 26.




Marketing seminar in Mancos



The “How to market and sell your artwork” is a three-part class series to assist career-oriented visual artists with gaining exposure and sales for their artwork. It will be on three Tuesdays (June 5, 12 and 19) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mancos Town Gallery in the Visitors Center.

The presenter, Stew Mosberg, was the publisher of The Cultural Times, a monthly arts journal, and has taught at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons School of Design in New York. He is a freelance writer and on staff at Arts Perspective magazine.

The deadline for registration is May 22. Class size is limited so register early by calling 970-403-1590.
