Chantz Koskie of Montezuma-Cortez High School was recently presented the schools highest agricultural honor, the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award, sponsored by the Monsanto Company.
Koskie, the daughter of Kyle Koskie and Seely Daniels, received the award for excellence in academics, leadership and agricultural work experience. Koskies significant experience and accomplishments have included earning a gold emblem proficiency award in agricultural sales, numerous chapter leadership awards, attending FFAs premier Washington Leadership Conference and competing on the Cortez FFAs state qualifying parliamentary procedure team.

This year the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award celebrates its 65th anniversary. Over these 65 years more than 168,000 high school seniors from across the country have received the award, which has become a symbol for excellence and the schools highest agricultural honor. In 2011, over 2,000 students from high schools in 49 of the 50 states were recognized with the Award.
As the winner of the 2012 Award, Chantz Koskies name will be recorded on a permanent plaque displayed in the agricultural education classroom at M-CHS. She also received a certificate and pin.
