The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for much of the Western Slope beginning Sunday night, as temperatures drop into the upper 20s to lower 30s.

Locations in Southwest Colorado include Cortez, Dove Creek, Mancos, Durango, Bayfield, Ignacio, and Pagosa Springs, the weather service in Grand Junction said, as well as Steamboat Springs, Craig, Meeker Rifle, Mesa and Glenwood Springs.

The warning runs from 10 p.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. Monday, with the lowest temperatures occurring just before sunrise.

The weather service forecasts sunny skies Monday in Montezuma County, with a high temperature of 59 degrees and an overnight low of 34. The extended forecast calls for a chance of rain Tuesday night through Friday, with highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 40s.
