The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin a project Monday, April 30, to resurface Highway 145 south of Telluride. The 11.5-mile project will cost $5.4 million and involves reconstruction of the roadway in two locations where a previous project addressed drainage and slope issues (with rock removal and slope stabilization above the highway);. The area are at mile post 69.5 south of Mountain Village and mile post 62 south of Trout Lake.

Resurfacing the highway from mile post 71, south to mile post 59.5, at the San Miguel-Dolores county line ill also take place.

During the work motorists will encounter single-lane, alternating traffic at mile posts 62 and 69.5 24/7, directed by flaggers during the day and a signal at night. Once this repair work is done, likely by June 8, motorists can expect single-lane traffic during daylight hours.

The project is expected to be completed in early October.
