The city of Cortez will once again be hosting a Spring Clean-Up Week, running through Saturday, April 28.

Cortez residents may leave unwanted items on their curb to be picked up by garbage collectors on regular collection days.

Residents are encouraged to place loose items in a container such as bag or box. Regular garbage should be placed in dumpsters or polycarts separate from clean up week items.

Unwanted tree limbs and electronic items must be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday April 28 at the Bicycle Motocross Track, 1415 East Empire Street. Tree limbs will be chipped for free there, while a $2 fee will be charged to recycle computer monitors or televisions.

Belt Salvage will also have containers available at the site Saturday for scrap metal collection.

Items that will not be accepted include: Tires, refrigerators, freezers, paint/chemicals/oil, asbestos, barrels with liquid inside, hazardous waste.
