The Four Corners Beekeepers will present a community talk by Michele Colopy of the Pollinator Stewardship Council about affordable ways to replace lawns with a pollinator garden for bees at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at Florida Baptist Church, 30296 U.S. Highway 160.

Honeybees are unable to pollinate grass lawns, which have shallow roots and require excessive amounts of water. Pollinator plants are deeply rooted, need less water and provide much-needed forage for bees.

The event is free and open to all.
