Kirk Archibeque, 27, put on an impressive performance in the last round for Zastal (Poland) ZG.
The Montezuma-Cortez High School graduates effort earned him the Eurobasket.com Player of the Week (April 9-15) award for round 10 (Second Stage).
He had a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds in a losing effort to Energa Czarni, 83-81. Zastal ZG maintains the fourth-place spot in the Polish Basketball League playoffs.
It was a stellar performance for Archibeque. Overall, the Fort Lewis College graduate has impressive statistics this year. He is one of the league leaders in rebounds, fifth at 7.5 a game, and averages a solid 60 percent shooting from the field. It was the centers third Player of the Week award of his career.
Zastal ZG (21-13) will host Energa Czarni (20-14) tomorrow in Game 1 of the PLK first-round playoffs. It is a best-of-five series.
