Denying eclipse to students a mistake

Superintendent Lori Haukeness of Montezuma-Cortez School District RE-1, if your motto of “Kids First” is really in place, isn’t a solar eclipse, probably seen only once in a lifetime, a learning experience?

Whose idea was it to cancel this experience to the students, especially after having gone to great lengths to make it a safe experience?

This decision has disallowed a learning experience to hundreds of Montezuma-Cortez School District students. It would have been an experience of a lifetime.

If we are to pursue the absolute safety from any injury to the students for fear of lawsuits, then the entire sports program would need to be eliminated.

Stop this nonsense and get rid of the person who made this decision.
