SATURDAY, MARCH 24
A deputy observed a car in Dolores with an adult female driver and an adult male passenger, who was the registered owner. The deputy recognized the two people in the car from prior contacts and dispatch advised that neither persons in the car had valid drivers licenses. The car was pulled over and turned onto a county road, and the deputy advised the female why she had been contacted. She stated that she didnt know that her license was expired, and when asked for it, stated that she didnt have it on her, that it had been lost at the Casino a few weeks ago. The deputy observed several signs that the woman might be under the influence of drugs, and the woman admitted to smoking marijuana two days ago. After various tests, the deputy informed her that he believed her to be under the influence of something, and the woman admitted to smoking marijuana that same day, and then denied it, saying that she had never said that. She was arrested for DUI drugs. Due to probable cause, the car was searched for drugs, and a backpack was found in the back seat of the car with several unused hypodermic needles, including one concealed in a box of feminine hygiene items. Also located was a piece of tinfoil typically used to conceal drugs and for smoking them. A small metal spoon was found in the womans purse that is typically used to melt drugs down before loading into a hypodermic needle. Approximately two grams of marijuana was found in the pocket of a jacket in the back seat. Neither the woman nor the vehicles owner would admit ownership of the backpack and its contents and said that the car had sat parked for several months not being used. The woman refused to give a blood or urine sample.
TUESDAY, MARCH 27
A deputy received an update from a reporting party that a neighbors dogs were on his property again. Photos were provided showing the animal and the property owner confirmed the date and time the photos were taken. The deputy informed the property owner that he would issue another summons to the dogs owner her fourth offense as soon as he was able to contact her. As of the date of this report, the dogs owner was not able to be contacted, although the deputy did observe the both dogs from previous incidents inside of the womans home.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28
A deputy in a patrol vehicle was stopped at an intersection when he observed a car pass in front of him that did not have a side mirror on it. The deputy contacted the vehicle and spoke with the female driver, who said that she didnt have her drivers licence on her. When asked what her date of birth was, she told the deputy that she could not remember her date of birth, and while speaking with the deputy, would not make direct eye contact with him. A male passenger in the front seat also avoided eye contact with the deputy. When asked why the woman could not remember her date of birth, she stated that she just has problems remembering stuff sometimes. She was asked to exit the vehicle, and finally gave a date of birth, and when dispatch had no record of such a person, she amended her birthday and said that she meant a different year other than the one she had given. Dispatch still had no record of the woman. The deputy took her into custody for lying about who she was, and once handcuffed, the woman gave her real name and birth date, and dispatch advised that her license had been revoked for an alcohol-related offense. She was informed that she was now under arrest for criminal impersonation and for driving under restraint. The male passenger was also checked and the name he provided came back with two active warrants for arrest. The male passenger was handcuffed, and after being taken into custody said that he had lied, and then provided a different name. The next name he provided also had a warrant for arrest. He was also charged with criminal impersonation. The two subjects were issued felony hold slips and left in the care and custody of jail staff.
