Austin Hall checks the level of the compacted gravel before the concrete pour at what will be the Economic and Workforce Development building at Southwest Colorado Community College. When finished, the building will have two classrooms, a conference room and three offices. The original building had a cracked foundation that qualified for money from the state emergency maintenance fund for $144,000. The school will provide the remaining 20 percent of the $200,000 cost with in- house workers. It will be ready for classes in the fall.
