The Cortez City Council will receive an update on the Colorado Department of Transportation project to repave South Broadway when they meet for their workshop meeting scheduled for 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 210 East Main St. in Cortez.

The update will be followed by an update on a billing error regarding the Cortez Sanitation District and a discussion on the potential establishment of a licensing process and fee structure for medical marijuana retail centers.

When the council meets for its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. that same night, it will vote on the consent agenda, which includes, renewal of a beer retail license for Giant No. 260, 921 East Main St.; and a special event permit for the Four Corners Riding Club for a fundraiser March 19, at Parque de Vida.

A proclamation is expected to be signed, declaring 2012 as the year of the girl and celebrating 100 years of Girl Scouting.

Listed under public hearings, the council will consider approval of an ordinance amending the city code to impose licensing and operation requirements on medical marijuana businesses in town.

Under new business, the council will consider a resolution approving a land lease at the Cortez Municipal Airport to Circle Zebra Fabricators for one year.
