The Colorado Department of Agriculture is offering a location in Cortez for those interested in testing toward their license as a commercial pesticide applicator. The testing is one step in becoming a qualified supervisor or certified operator in areas such as agriculture, turf and ornamental, and structural pesticide application. The testing will take place at the CSU Extension Office, 109 W. Main St. (downstairs in Room 102) on Tuesday, March 13 at 8 a.m. The testing fee is $100, and is limited to 15 applicants. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis; appointments should be made with the Department of Agriculture by today, but walk-ins will also be accepted at the testing if space is available. Each exam may be taken twice; however, there is no grading available at the testing facility. Tests will be graded in Lakewood, Colo.

Contact Mary Jo Dennis at (303) 239-4148 to register for testing.
