The Montezuma Valley Irrigation Company (MVI) recently completed its annual meeting. With a turnout of over 150 persons and over 18,000 shares of capital stock represented, it was a well-attended meeting. We heard reports from five individuals that summarized the year in water. And at the end of the day, all business was completed and the company advanced.

One of the items every year at the annual meeting is the election of directors. Directors are elected from districts which are defined by geographic area within the service area of MVI. Stockholders nominate and elect neighbors to serve and direct the corporation.

And some times, as it is this year, the results bring mixed feelings when new members replace incumbent members.

We welcome two new members to the Board of Directors of Montezuma Valley Irrigation Company, Greg Black and James Snyder. And we as staff, directors and stockholders look forward to the new perspective they bring and to working with them.

And above all, we want to express our appreciation for the loyal service given by the two neighbors ending their tenure as directors. Lynn Gardner served as director for the Arriola District and Kevin McComb served as director for the Beulah District. Both of these men served faithfully for six years. Thanks to both of you from your friends and your neighbors, and from your fellow board members and the staff for your dedication and your service.
