Friday, June 23

5:09 a.m.: A man turned himself in at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on three warrants, including one for a local felony.



11:17 a.m.: A woman was issued a summons in the 800 block of South Chestnut Street on suspicion of harassment after a man claimed she had struck him. The man was also trespassed from the property where the woman was staying, at the owner’s request.



5:59 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after employees claimed she had tried to steal $43.70 worth of cosmetic items and dog food.



7:08 p.m.: A man was served with a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.



Saturday, June 24

3:45 p.m.: A man and a woman were arrested in Parque De Vida, 400 N. Mildred Road, on suspicion of indecent exposure, possession of alcohol in the park and open container violations after police responded to a report that they were having sex near a gazebo being used for a child’s birthday party. Several containers of alcohol and one container of marijuana were found in their possession.



Sunday, June 25

12:29 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 600 block of North Mildred Road on suspicion of driving with a revoked license as a habitual traffic offender, driving without insurance and displaying expired plates.



5:34 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 100 block of North Roger Smith Avenue on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after three bags of meth, a bag of amphetamine and a glass pipe were found in his possession.



1:45 p.m.: A man was issued a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at Liquid Assets, 718 E. Main St., after employees claimed he had stolen two bottles of whiskey, valued at $48.98 total.



8:44 p.m.: A man was arrested at Cork and Bottle, 443 E. Main St., on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se and unsafe backing after two store customers claimed his vehicle had backed into theirs in the parking lot.



Monday, June 26

10:02 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the 100 block of West North Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a San Juan County misdemeanor charge after police responded to a report that she and a man were panhandling and bothering passersby.



11:19 a.m.: A man was arrested at Mesa Verde Inn, 640 S. Broadway, on a warrant for failure to appear on a felony warrant from Watertown, Connecticut.



11:46 a.m.: A man reported a theft at the Disabled American Veterans office on 7 W. First St. He said a toolbox valued at $400, a Dell laptop valued at $500 and a vehicle code reader valued at $100 were stolen from his locked vehicle. The case remains under investigation.



Tuesday, June 27

11:06 a.m.: A woman was cited for failing to maintain an animal that disturbed the peace after a man claimed her dog had bitten him on the wrist. The animal control officer issued the citation after learning that the dog’s rabies vaccination had expired.



12:35 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 800 block of East Main Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail, due to severe intoxication.



8:37 p.m.: A man was arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of disturbing the peace and interfering with an officer after he reportedly started yelling profanity at another man and tried to hit him. When responding officers started to escort him from the park, which was filling up with people attending a free movie night, he reportedly acted aggressively and tried to jerk away from one of them, leading the officer to tackle him to the ground. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail, due to severe intoxication.
