Mardi Gras comes to Mancos Opera House

The newly combined Cortez, Dolores and Mancos VFW Post 5231, Ladies Auxiliary and the Mancos Opera House Restoration and Preservation Society are organizing a Mardi Gras fundraiser to be held at the Mancos Opera House, 136 Grand Ave. in Mancos, Feb. 4, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Ticket prices are $35 per person and $60 per couple at the door. Reserved tables can be purchased for $250. We are anticipating approximately 300 guests for this event.

The reserved table will be acknowledged with your company name on the table tent and sponsor posters around the hall and in our advertisements.

We are asking for sponsors to help fund this event and future restoration of the Mancos Opera House. We have just recently completed replacing the roof, installing new windows and enclosing the steel beams. The next phases for the restoration needing funding are the plumbing, facade and opera house floor stabilization along with new ceiling tiles both upstairs and downstairs. Long-term goals include an elevator to provide greater access, and transport equipment, etc. to the second floor of the building. As a sponsor, you will be included in all advertising - not only for this event, but for all activities sponsored by the Mancos Opera House.

We are also accepting dinner gift certificates, merchandise, etc. to use as costume prizes or silent auction items.
