WEDNESDAY, JAN. 11

Ÿ Geric C. Yazzie, 21, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of under 2 ounces of marijuana, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to pay $531 in fines and costs.

Ÿ Jeremy R. Barton, 24, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of driving while ability impaired. This is defendant’s first DWAI conviction. He received a deferred sentence of 30 days in jail with suspended disposition, and was sentenced to 12 months supervised probation. He was ordered to pay $528.50 in fines and costs, and must perform 24 hours of useful public service by Dec. 11, 2012. He must submit to random tests for drugs and alcohol use, and must complete a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow all recommendations. He must violate no laws — traffic or criminal, and must keep his address current with the court. All standard conditions of probation apply including no alcohol and illegal drug use; defendant must follow all conditions of probation. 30 day jail sentence is suspended as a condition of probation.

Ÿ Gaylene Doctor, 19, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of driving without a driver’s license, one count of failure to use child restraint, and one count of driving without insurance. In the final count she received a deferred sentence of 12 months unsupervised probation. She was ordered to pay $438.50 in fines and costs, and to perform 30 hours of community service by Jan. 11, 2013, and to provide proof to the court. Community service may be completed through a non-profit organization that has a current insurance policy to cover volunteers, and proof of that insurance must be filed with the court. She was ordered to violate no laws — traffic or criminal, and must keep her address current with the court. Defendant was ordered to obtain insurance, to keep it valid for 12 months, and to file evidence of such with the court.

FRIDAY, JAN. 13

Ÿ Cody Steven Cullum, 25, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly conduct — unreasonable noise. He was ordered to pay $226 in fines and costs and to perform 25 hours of useful public service by July 12, 2012.

Ÿ Christopher M. Wright, 39, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of driving while ability impaired and received a deferred sentence of 12 months probation. He was ordered to pay $584.50 in fines and costs, and must perform 24 hours of community service by Jan. 9, 2013. He was ordered to obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow all recommendations, and file proof with the court. Defendant must violate no laws — traffic or criminal, and must keep his address current with the court.

Ÿ Gopal Ramakrishna, 46, of Durango, pleaded guilty to one count of driving while ability impaired. He was sentenced to 365 days in jail with suspended imposition, and was ordered to pay $554.50 in fines and costs. He was ordered to obtain an alcohol and drug evaluation and follow all recommendations, and to provide proof to the court. He must attend inpatient treatment and follow all recommendations of same. He was also ordered to perform 24 hours of community service by Jan. 13, 2013.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 18

Ÿ David L. Sanchez, 26, of Cortez pleaded guilty to one count of possession of an illegal weapon. He received a deferred sentence of 12 months supervised probation, and was ordered to pay $484.50 in fines and costs. He had to forfeit the weapon, and was also ordered to complete 50 hours of useful public service. He was ordered to violate no laws — traffic or criminal, and to keep his address current with the court. Probation may be transferred to unsupervised probation after completion of all conditions of probation, including paying fines and court costs in full.
