Dear Editor:
Corporations are people is manipulative and corrupt use of the English language to fool us into believing corporations are about the people. What they intend is ultimate control of politics, economies, agriculture, water, food, elections, law, health care, education, the military and war, ensuring their maximum control of people, resources and flow of profits.
Such corporate use of words appears to be, however subtle, a blatant attempt to take over peoples lives without stirring the waters. But united we stand! Even that once-formidable phrase has been divided into so many mini-meanings, and I am left wondering, what is the common ground among citizens? Think before you say money. Important, yes, but surely there is something just as important for which we can collectively take a stand.
This writers analogy of what we are seeing from politicians and corporations is an out-of-control exploitation of capitalism, like a drug user, who has become the distributor, then gains the monopoly, over all drugs, those who use them and those who theyll make sure will use them in the future, as values, souls, humanity and life continue to dissolve.
Weve all known of the possibility that our freedom could, like water, be taken from us at any time, and with dollar signs now overwhelming the warning signs, citizens may just follow the corporations.
Heres a possible solution to keep from being herded into a pen or off that cliff. We ask ourselves why we keep falling into the same painful consequence, each fall coming closer to disaster. We answer that weve been habituated to do whats most familiar, but if were observant well see the pattern revealing the road that has proven to be fraught with danger, and then collectively exercise our right to choose, and stop going down it.
