Jeremy Rosenbaugh has opened a new chiropractic practice at 321 E. North Street.

Former U.S. Army Ranger Jeremy Rosenbaugh knows all about getting bruises and sprains. He served five tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries from a car bomb during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Rosenbaugh used his GI Bill to go back to school to become a licensed chiropractor. He recently returned to his hometown of Cortez and opened his own practice where he offers discounts to emergency responders and military veterans.

“Everybody who’s jumped out of an airplane — they’re banged up, bruised, had something twisted,” He said. “Or marched with a big old rucksack and nasty boots. So yeah, they all need it. We had chiropractors deploy with us, so you can definitely see the benefits.”

Besides treating the standard aches and pains associated with a chiropractor, Rosenbaugh does nutritional consulting and is offering a 30-day weight loss cleanse to help patients keep their New Year’s resolutions.

“It’s kind of like a flush,” he said. “It gets all the toxins, and nasty stuff out so you can start fresh. Your energy level comes up. It’s just a shake in the morning, a shake at lunch. You just eat fruits and vegetables for the first week. So it’s kind of brutal for the first seven days, then you can add fish and chicken back in.”

Rosenbaugh also offers treatments for patients of all ages suffering from muscle pain, earaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, sports injuries, swelling, attention deficit, surgery rehabilitation and physical evaluations for commercial drivers.

Rosenbaugh received his doctorate of chiropractic this year from Parker University located in Dallas, Texas as well as undergraduate degrees in anatomy and health/wellness.

After leaving the service, Rosenbaugh said he was persuaded to go into the practice by a local chiropractor he had visited since he was a boy.

“I just had migraines so bad that I’d get sick in school and have to go home,” he said. “So I’d go to the chiropractor; that was the only thing that seemed to help.”

Rosenbaugh currently does not have an office assistant. He answers his own phone and schedules his own appointments. Certified massage therapists Dana Jensen and Rob Chrontos also practice in his office.
