Carson Soukup, 17, and Bryan Tripp, 18, will be leading Montezuma-Cortez High School's improvisational theater troupe through a public performance at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the high school auditorium.
The Impulsive Improvisors will be playing games from the TV show “Whose Line Is it Anyway?”
“We get suggestions from the audience for themes and characters,” Soukup said. “And once we have a few parameters, we act it out on stage.”
The improvisational group rehearses regularly and puts together a public performance on the third Wednesday of most months throughout the school year.
So far this year, the troupe has been looking good, Soukup said.
“We started off kind of flimsy and flaky, but we've definitely pulled it together,” Soukup said about this year's group of Impulsive Improvisors. “And the troupe has more than doubled, and we're having regular practices, so it's actually been a major improvement.”
The shows are usually about 45 minutes to an hour, Soukup said, and tickets cost $2.
“We use (the money) for anything like props but usually, what ends up happening, is that we give it to the theater department because improv doesn't take a lot of money,” he said.
