Archibeque gets traded to new Polish team

Zastal Zielona Gora (Poland) recently bolstered their front court. The team landed Kirk Archibeque, a former Cortez and Fort Lewis College star.

The center started the season on another Polish Basketball League team, LKS Lodz where he tallied 16.7 points per game, 10.2 rebounds per game and 1.5 assists.

Last season, Archibeque played for Polpharma where the big man delivered 9.1 points and 6.2 rebounds a game. Archibeque won the Polish Cup with Polpharma. He spent his first professional season in Slovakia with Levice.

Archibeque graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2009 and was named to the All-RMAC West Division first team. He also made the NABC, NCAA Division II All-America Central District second team.

Archibeque is a 2003 graduate of Montezuma-Cortez High School, helping the Panthers win the Colorado 4A state championship in 2002.
