Montezuma County Sheriff Dennis Spruell plays the part of an Old West sheriff during the Pinon Project’s comedy night last year.

Want to have some fun, build employee morale and contribute to the community? The Pinon Project is planning its sixth annual “Family Comedy Club” fundraiser event, and is looking for local businesses to help.

This year additional talent is being sought to be a part of this wonderful community event. The theme for this year is “The Valentine Blues.” In past years, participants have really enjoyed being a part of this annual event and have had just as much fun getting ready for the event as they did at the actual performance.

Some of the suggested criteria for an act, should your business like to join us, are:

Acts should be no longer than 3-4 minutes in length.

As this is a family comedy event, we ask that businesses use discretion in their material.

Acts can include short skits, parodies, music, dance, magic or anything that is entertaining to both adults and children.

We will be available for coaching, technical assistance or should you need a place to practice.

To help in deciding if your act is talented, and fits within our show, The Pinon Project will have two board members available to view your act and to offer any guidance necessary. We also have opportunities for people to work backstage doing the behind-the-scenes jobs. All help will be greatly appreciated.

Please contact Diana Buza, Executive Director, or Dave Hart, Deputy Director, by Thursday, Dec. 15th if you are interested in being a part of this event. The phone number is 564-1195, extension 125 (Diana) or Dave at extension 122. If you are interested, but not sure of what “talent” you have, we can also offer assistance in coming up with an idea.
