Kirk Archibeque competes in a Polish Basketball League game Wednesday. The former Montezuma-Cortez standout led LKS Sphinx (Lodz), scoring 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, in a loss to Polpharma. For his efforts, Archibeque was named the Round 4 PBL Player of the Week.

American center Kirk Archibeque (205-C-84, agency: Hart Sports Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for LKS Shpinx (Lodz), receiving the Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for Round 4.

The 27-year-old had a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds, while his team lost to Archibeque’s former team, Polpharma, 81-76 on Wednesday.

The game was rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on the top of the standings. LKS Lodz moved-up to the ninth position in the Polish PLK standings.

LKS Lodz is a rather weak team placed in the lower part of the standings. It was their second loss this season out of three games. Archibeque has turned out to be LKS Lodz’s top player in his first season with the team. The former Fort Lewis College star has very solid stats this year. Archibeque is ninth in scoring at 16.3 points per game and averages an impressive 53 percent from the field, while leading the league in rebounds at 10.3 a game.
