On Sunday, Oct. 23, Lighthouse Baptist Church is hosting “Friend Day” at 10:45 a.m. with an evening service at 6 p.m. The guest speaker will be John Goetsch.

Goetsch was born and raised on a dairy farm near Watertown, Wisc. Though raised in a godly home, it wasn’t until the age of 15 that he trusted Christ as saviour at a youth camp in northern Wisconsin. In his later teen years he struggled with priorities but surrendered to attend Bible college. He graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College in June 1974 and entered full-time evangelism. Since then, he has preached thousands of times and held revivals in local churches, schools, and youth camps all across the United States and in some foreign countries. Goetsch has spent much time memorizing scripture, which he uses extensively in his preaching. On July 1, 1996, he and his family moved to Lancaster, Calif., where he joined the staff as executive vice president of West Coast Baptist College. During the school year, Dr. Goetsch devotes himself to administration and teaching numerous classes in the college. On the weekends and during breaks from the school, he continues to preach revivals and special services wherever possible.

Lunch will be served to our friends immediately following the morning service. Lighthouse Baptist Church is located just north of the Cortez city limits at 11502 U.S. Highway 145. If you need a ride, call 565-9302. Lighthouse Baptist Church asks people to join for “Friend Day”!
