The Polish Basketball League season is underway and a former local prep star is back in action.
Former Montezuma-Cortez standout Kirk Archibeque and LKS Sphinx (Lodz) are off to a 1-1 start with an 89-71 win over Anwil, and a 87-65 loss to Trefl Sopot.
Archibeque helped LKS defeat Anwil on the road in the season opener, posting a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds. On Wednesday, the 6-foot-9 center poured in 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the loss at Trefl Sopot.
LKS will host Archibeques former team, Polpharma, Wednesday, Oct. 19.
