YVONNE LOPEZ has started selling her freshly cut and potted flowers inside Karla’s Kitchen.

Yvonne Lopez lights up when she talks about flowers.

They have been her life for eight years. She owns Desert Rose Flowers. Her flowers now have a new location, Karla’s Kitchen.

“I just love to make arrangements,” Lopez said.

Another favorite part is delivering flowers.

“I love to be able to see that smile on someone’s face that was not expecting flowers,” she said.

Lopez makes bouquets from her Dolores home and then sells them at Karla’s.

She will also have available potted flowers, such as a giant bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums available for sale today.

Handmade bouquets range from $5 to $16.

She said she wants to keep the flowers at an affordable price.

“I want everybody to be able to enjoy flowers,” she said.

Lopez said her love of flowers started when she was a little girl.

“I grew up poor, across the street from a flower shop, and I remember going in and just staring at the flowers,” she said.
