Mia Blakely wins the CWGA

A total of 19 people participated in the Conquistador Women’s Golf Association championship that was held last weekend at Conquistador Golf Course.

Mia Blakely won the championship with a low gross score of 187. She took home $100.

Sherri Franchini won the first flight with a low gross score of 189. She won $80. Other first flight low gross’ were Mary Englehart, second ($50), 199; and, Shannon Williamson, third ($35), 209. Dottie Banks had the first net score of 148 to win $80. Janet Miller and Judy Jaruis were second and third in net score at 154 and 164. The two won $50 and $35 respectively.

For the second flight, Claudia McNair’s score of 203 was the lowest gross. She won $80. Nadene Hamilton and Mona Gram recorded the second and third lowest gross scores of 212 and 221. Each won $50 and $35. Yvonne Rule had the best net of 211 to win $80. Other net scores were Harriet Nowotnu, second ($50), 212; and, Anita Nelson, third ($35), 221.

Banks won the closest to the pin challenge on the 16th and 12th holes. Williamson and Englehart won the closest to the pin challenge on the seventh and third holes.
