Cortez claims 3 BMX state titles

A total of 17 Cortez BMX riders ranked in the top 10 of the Colorado BMX State Championship on Aug. 28, in Grand Junction. On Aug. 28, was the Colorado BMX (bicycle motocross) State Championship final in Grand Junction.

A total of 390 competitive bike riders from across Colorado participated.

Cortez BMX brought 33 riders and three of them earned state titles. Logan Willbanks is the 16-year-old cruiser state champion, Kamri Willbanks is the 7-year-old girls state champ, and Chase Moore is the 7-year-old boys state champ. This is the third year in a row that Moore has won the state championship in his age group.

Cortez BMX had a total of 17 riders ranked in the state top-10 of their respective classes. The additional 14 riders were, Chase Gallimore, Jackson Vermeule, Aaron McClain, Bo Lard, Jalen Balderrama, Cade Gallimore, Kale Willbanks, Cole Baxter, Tyler Potts, Landon Sanchez, Dylan Fuller, Cheyenne Tanner, Taron Lard and Amber Fullerand.
