Cortez native Eli Tomac sits in fourth place in the 250 Lites MX Class point standings of the American Motorcyclist Association 2011 motocross season.
The 18-year-old has 290 points on the season after his races in Southwick, Mass., at Moto-X 338 on Aug. 27, and at Steel City Raceway in Delmont, Pa., last Saturday. Tomac took 19th at Moto-X 338, but rebounded for a second-place finish in Delmont. Racing his Honda CRF250R for Geico Powersports Honda factory racing team, Tomac has recorded seven top five finishes this season.
The AMA motocross season concludes with Round 12 on Saturday at Pala Raceway in Pala, Calif.
