Cortez native Eli Tomac sits in fifth place in the 250 Lites MX Class point standings of the American Motorcyclist Association 2011 motocross season.
The 18-year-old has 239 points on the season after his race in New Berlin, N.Y., at Unadilla Valley Sports Center on Saturday. Racing his Honda CRF250R for Geico Powersports Honda factory racing team, Tomac placed third for his sixth top five finish this season.
The AMA motocross season resumes on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Moto-X 338 in Southwick, Mass.
