Mike Francisco, the Cortez Race Across America bike race time station/information booth coordinator, would like to thank those organizations and volunteers who made this years station successful.
Thanks goes to the Cortez Walmart Supercenter for allowing the time station to be placed in the northeast corner of their parking lot. The Cortez Welcome Center provided area information and literature to be given out to support crews. Gayle Alexander, Cortez Retail Enhancement, provided us with a list of those Cortez services and companies willing to be available to RAAM participants and support crews needing help 24/7. The Cortez Journal for their RAAM article and running the request for volunteers. Finally, the time station would not have happened without the volunteers willing to donate their time and talents to man the station and interact with support crews and some participants of the solo and team cyclists.
Thanks to all of you for allowing the Cortez community serve the cyclists, support crews, and race officials. All of them were very impressed with the station and the fact that it was manned 24/7 to help them meet their goal of completing and potentially winning the Race Across America, 2011.
