The Denver Post recognized Dolores, Mancos and Dove Creek track and field athletes on its All-State teams for the 2011 season.
Dolores graduated senior Alex Bernholtz was named to the Colorado 2A All-State boys team in the 300-meter hurdles. Bernholtz won the 2A state championship in the event with a time of 40.38. Mancos graduated senior Kenny Philpot was named 2A honorable mention in the high jump.
The Dolores Lady Bears 4 x 100-meter relay team of juniors to be Mindy McCracken, Cassie Lard and Lexi Atkinson, and graduated senior Cortney Brunner were named to the Colorado 2A girls All-State team. The quartet won the 2A state title in the event, tieing the state record time of 50.37, which set a school record. Dove Creek graduated senior Kyli Banks was named 1A honorable mention in the shot put and discus.
