Capelin earns BA degree from Colorado College

Joanna Shayna Capelin graduated with a bachelor of arts in sociology from Colorado College in Colorado Springs.

Joanna Capelin is the daughter of Beverly & Douglas Capelin of Mancos.

The college awarded 476 undergraduate degrees and seven master of arts in teaching degrees at its 129th commencement ceremony, held on May 23, 2011.

Mark Fiore, winner of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for political cartooning and widely regarded as one of the best online journalists at work in the United States, addressed the Colorado College Class of 2011. In addition to Fiore, Richard F. Celeste, the 12th president of Colorado College, and Anne Carson, the Canadian poet, philosopher and critic, also received honorary degrees.

Colorado College is a nationally prominent, four-year liberal arts college that was founded in Colorado Springs in 1874.
