Mancos firefighters examine a mobile home that burned Thursday morning near Mancos. No one was injured in the fire. The structure is expected to be a total loss.

Fire destroyed a mobile home Thursday morning near Mancos.

The Mancos Fire Protection District responded just before 10 a.m. Thursday to find the mobile home fully engulfed in flame, Captain Scott Anderson said.

No people or pets were injured by the fire, Anderson said, but the structure was a total loss.

A wood burning stove is suspected to have caused the fire because the resident of the home reported stoking the fire before leaving, Anderson said.

A neighbor on scene, who asked not to be named, said she saw the flames and reported the fire.

The home was located at 40594 Colorado Highway 184 approximately two miles North of Mancos. The property is listed at the Montezuma County Assessor’s office as belonging to Lewis Fulbright.
