The Mancos School of the West has announced upcoming totem, jewelry classes.
Make Your Own Wall Totem From NatureJoin Brooklyn-based designer Kelly Horrigan to create a unique wall totem using natural materials such as leather, semi-precious stones, feathers, wood, bone, antique beads and found objects. Learn the healing properties behind the materials and create a hanging to reconnect with the deep spirit of nature.
The class will take place December 28 from 1-5 p.m. at the Mancos Public Library. There will be a $60 registration fee abd $60 material fee the day of the class.
Leather and Stones Jewelry WorkshopJoin Brooklyn-based designer Kelly Horrigan to create jewelry using traditional leather-working methods. Learn to integrate semi-precious stones with leather using traditional lacing techniques and walk away with a necklace or cuff bracelet.
This class will take place January 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mancos Public Library. There is a $60 registration fee and a $60 material fee the day of the class.
