I would like to congratulate the Montezuma-Cortez High School Marching Panthers on their second place finish at the state competition. What an outstanding accomplishment from some of the finest young members of our community. They all worked very hard and performed extremely well. I am very proud of them.

I would also like to commend Rodney Ritthaler on his pending retirement. He is a remarkable teacher and youth leader. He will be greatly missed. Thanks for 28 years of devoted service. We will miss your music.

We live in an awesome community. The band could not function without the generosity of the organizations, businesses and individuals who have donated and help fund our program. Some of these donations are large and gracious, but we also appreciate the sacrifice of the $5 raffle ticket donation. It all adds up and helps us to accomplish the goal of providing the best opportunity possible for our students to be successful.

I would also like to thank the members of my board, Kim Martin, David Bostrom and Brittney Smith and all the volunteers who have helped out with their time, talents and vehicles. The band could not function without these countless hours of service. I have enjoyed serving with you. Thank you all so much.
