Former Dolores golfer enters first college season

Kiselya Plewe has had two top-25 finishes to start her freshman season at Weber State University.

Montezuma-Cortez graduate and former Dolores Lady Bears golfer Kiselya Plewe has begun play at the college level.

Suiting up as a freshman for the Weber State University Wildcats, Plewe recorded a top-25 finish in her collegiate debut, as reported by the WSU Athletics website.

Teeing off at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic in Springville, Utah on Sept. 13, Plewe shot a 76 in her opening round and followed it with scores of 75 and 77 in rounds two and three, respectively, to finish with a total score of 228 to tie for 24th.

In her next contest at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational last Tuesday in Tacoma, Washington, Plewe improved her score and finished in the top 20.

She posted scores of 73, 78 and 74 in three rounds for a total score of 225 and tied with teammate Kaceelyn Pottu for 18th place overall as the Wildcats finished eighth as a team.

Plewe and the Wildcats next play in California Polytechnic State University’s Lady Mustang Invitational at Cypress Ridge Golf Club in Arroyo Grande, California on Saturday, Oct. 22.
