Cortez native Eli Tomac took fifth-place in the second race of the 2011 Lucas Oil American Motorcyclist Association outdoor motocross season in Wortham, Texas, on Saturday at the Rockstar Energy Freestone National from Freestone Raceway.
Tomac moved into third place in the 250 season standings with 69 points on his Honda CRF250R racing for Geico Powersports Honda factory racing team.
The 18-year-old opened the outdoor season on Saturday, May 21, in Sacramento, Calif., at the Hangtown Motocross Classic, where he took fourth.
Tomac will be at the High Point National at High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, Pa., on Saturday, June 11.
