The Crow Canyon Archaeological Center has supported increased protection for cultural resources and sacred sites for decades.
We were pleased that the current administration asked U.S. Interior Secretary Sally Jewell to visit southeast Utah to learn more about the area’s extensive cultural resources and the threats to them.
By and large the archaeological community supports increased protection and investment in the cultural resources of the Bears Ears area, as do the tribal groups who trace their histories to these lands. One measure of the value of our society must be to preserve our shared human past.
