Memorial Day services in Rico this year were special with a dedication of a new sign at the Valley Rico Cemetery. Opening remarks were given by John Shriner, following prayer by Pastor Suzy Meyer and ending with a military gun salute by the color guard of the American Legion, VFW and DAV.

Carole Rychtarik of Rico and Celina, Texas planned this program after careful research of the names of those with graves and markers. With our beautiful spring days here at last, on a drive up Highway 145 from Dolores you will see the newly groomed cemetery, sign, an area to park and an easy stroll among trees and shrubs, with interesting iron enclosures and grave markers, some dating back to the Civil War.

The Rico Library located in our historic Courthouse will provide a beautiful color brochure written by Carole Rychtarik of the cemetery.

Will we see you in the mountains soon?

Sincerely,

Sue Eleison

Rico, Cortez
