The Mancos Conservation District will offer two workshops on irrigation water management next month.
The first class will take place June 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 28490 Road N west of Cortez, and the second workshop will take place June 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 38359 Road H west of Mancos.
The workshops will include instruction on topics such as correctly applying water to crops, using weather data for scheduling irrigation, basic field techniques for measuring soil moisture, conserving water, protecting soil health and proper scheduling of watering.
The High Desert Conservation District and the Natural Resources Conservation Service are collaborating to offer the workshops.
