SouthWest Colorado Concerts will close its 2010/2011 winter concert series with Broadway Star Jeri Sager at 7 p.m. Friday, May 13, at the Montezuma-Cortez High School auditorium, 206 W. Seventh St., Cortez.

Sager has performed on Broadway and in many Broadway National Tours. She is most well known for her poignant portrayal of Grizabella in “Cats,” as well as for her many concerts all over the world, according to a written statement from SouthWest Colorado Concerts. Jeri’s voice is ably backed by a quartet of piano, drums, bass and reeds as she sings her repertoire of songs from such Broadway hits as “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Les Miserables,” “Brigadoon,” “Evita,” “South Pacific” and “Pump Boys and Dinettes,” as well as her favorites from “Cats.”

In addition SouthWest Colorado Concerts will kick off sales at the Jeri Sager concert for next season. They will present four concerts for the 2011/2012 winter concert series. In October, Metales M5, Mexico’s finest brass quintet, will kick off the series. November brings The John Jorgenson Quintet playing their gypsy jazz, led by Grammy-winning guitarist John Jorgenson. In March, Bottom Line Duo, one of only three internationally touring bass and cello duos in history, will deliver a program of classical and popular music. The 2011/2012 season closes in May with the Redhead Express, a high-energy family show of Bluegrass, Traditional, Irish and Old Timey music. Details on these performances will be available at the Jeri Sager concert.

Tickets are available at the door. Single concert tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for youth 18 years and under. Season tickets for next season will also be available for $45 for adults and $5 for youth.
