Beef up security on local campuses

My fiancee attends Pueblo Community College/SCCC. He is getting charged for a nurse and for security but has never seen it or it does not exist. This came to light because I asked him about it just after the Umpqua Oregon Community College killings. He started a school petition to garner signatures of other like-minded students and faculty to request to the leaders of this college to please consider more safety protocols.

So far, he has spoken to student council but they cannot implement, it must be the owners of the school, and maybe the other entities that are housed in the same building and possibly the building owners. Fort Lewis and San Juan colleges have an armed security force, I want him to transfer where there are more deterrents to a possible tragedy. I worry every day, that today. he may not come home. Durango, Mancos and Fremont Campus students pay for this important need and do not have access to it, however the main Pueblo campus has an complete armed police force. Petition, call or email to the powers that be. Insist upon a safer environment for our loved ones. More voices need to be heard.
