Schwartz earns agricultural accomplishment award

Ethan Schwartz, a student at Dolores High School, has received the school’s highest agricultural honor, the 2011 DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award. This annual award, sponsored by Monsanto, recognizes Ethan’s excellence in academics, leadership, and agricultural work experience. Schwartz’s significant experiences and accomplishments have included National Honor Society, and participation and receipt of numerous awards during four years of FFA. Additionally, he is a Rotary Youth Leadership Award participant. Ethan’s agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor is Mr. Jake Gordanier at Dolores High School.

This year the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award celebrates its 64th anniversary. Over the 64 years, more than 166,000 high school seniors from across the country have received the award, which has become a symbol for excellence. In 2010, over 2,000 students from high schools in 49 of the 50 states were recognized with the Award. Schwartz’s name will be recorded on a permanent plaque displayed at Dolores High School.

Ethan is the son of Larry and Michelle Schwartz.
