The Mancos Public Library presents a free screening of the documentary film “Autism in Love” on at 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19.

The movie documents first-person portrayals that show the challenges faced by those with autism and shows love can find a way.

In the movie, four adults at different places on the autism spectrum open up their personal lives as they navigate dating and romantic relationships. Through these stories, we see that autism isn’t a one-size-fits-all disorder, and just like neurotypical people (those without developmental disabilities), those on the spectrum also experience the complexity, heartache, and joy that all come when making a romantic connection. “Autism in Love” was called “affectionate but clear-eyed” by The Hollywood Reporter.

A community discussion will follow the screening, and resources about supporting those with autism will be available.
